Spiritual Communion
When unable to receive Holy Communion, it is a pious practice to make a Spiritual communion. PRAYER FOR SPIRITUAL COMMUNION My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love you above all things and I desire to receive you in my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive you sacramentally, Come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace you as if you were already there And unite myself wholly to you. Never permit me to be separated from you. Amen. Prayer for Healing and Hope
Compassionate and Loving Father, In the face of confusion and concern impart to us the calm of Your presence. In you allow us to fine hope and healing. Be with those who serve the sick and give them Your caring hands. Be with those who lead and give them Your spirit of wisdom. Be with those who have fallen ill and give them Your comforting heart. Wrap your arms around our world and hold us in Your love. Allow us at this time of trial to then serve as instruments of that love to all we meet. We ask this in Your Name. Amen The Memorare
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly to you, O Virgin of virgins, my mother. To you I come; before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy, hear and answer me. Amen. |

A prayer as I put on my mask
Creator, as I prepare to go into the world, help me to see the sacrament in the wearing of this cloth-- let it be "an outward sign of an inward grace"-- a tangible and visible way of living love for my neighbors, as I love myself. Christ, since my lips will be covered, uncover my heart, that people would see my smile in the crinkles around my eyes. Since my voice may be muffled, help me to speak clearly, not only with my words, but with my actions. Holy Spirit, As the elastic touches my ears, remind me to listen carefully-- and full of care-- to all those I meet. May this simple piece of cloth be shield and banner, and each breath that it holds, be filled with your love. In your Name and in that love, I pray. Amen — Rev.
